Choosing a single-stone ring
A single-stone design gives one gemstone the leading role. Start with the colour and outline you enjoy, then compare how the metal and setting frame the stone. For an engagement ring or a piece to wear every day, consider the side profile and how the ring will sit alongside another band.
How should I compare the stone and setting?
Look at the individual stone's dimensions as well as its carat weight. Ask Tom about its colour, any treatments and available gemstone reports, and discuss how you plan to wear the ring. The setting height and the way the stone is held are useful details to review before choosing. Our ring sizing and gemstone guide explains what to ask.
Can I discuss a different gemstone or metal?
Share the piece you like, your preferred colours and an approximate budget with Tom. A bespoke ring commission can begin with that conversation; the stone, setting, price and timing need to be agreed for the individual design. Compare three-stone rings if you would also like to explore side stones.
