Your questions, answered
Planning bespoke jewellery in London
A bespoke commission starts with the person who will wear it: their preferred colours, the occasion and how the piece will be worn. Tom can help you explore a gemstone and setting together, whether you have a clear idea or are still choosing a direction.
What affects the cost of bespoke jewellery?
The choice of gemstone, its size and quality, the precious metal and the complexity of the setting all influence the quote. Share a comfortable budget at the beginning so Tom can discuss suitable options. Ask for the price and details of your individual commission before deciding to proceed.
Can I start with a sapphire or another coloured gemstone?
Yes. Gemstone selection is part of Tom’s bespoke process. Bring a preferred colour, a photograph or a ring from the collection as a starting point. Discuss the particular stone’s appearance, any treatments, available documentation and care needs before settling on the design.
Explore single stone rings, three stone rings and cluster rings for different setting ideas.
What should I prepare for the first conversation?
A few reference images, an approximate budget and the date of the occasion are useful. For a ring, mention whether you know the size and whether it will sit alongside another band. You do not need a finished design. Read the ring sizing and gemstone guide if you are unsure what to ask.
When should I enquire for a particular occasion?
Enquire before committing to a delivery date. Gemstone sourcing, design approval and making all affect the schedule, so Tom will discuss timing for the individual piece. Include your preferred date in your first message, even if your design is not yet decided.
